Student Success Stament

Student Success Stament
"Success is dependent on effort"

-Sophocles, Greek dramastic

The stament is correct because with effort anything can be accomplished. For example, I was scared in football because i was the smallest there. But know I am confident because with effort, I am not only small, but am also getting stronger because I am putting effort in to the practice so i can make it to the team.

How to Take on College Studying Part 2

How to Take on College Studying
Part 2

  Choose Where to Study
Where you should study depends on two factors: the environment in which you are best able to concentrate and the type of work you are planning to do.
·         The best place to study have good light, a conferrable temperature and enough desk space-usually your apartment or the library.
·         For completing problem sets or brainstorming possible test questions, you may want to study with a group or at least in a setting where fellow students are available for discussion.
·         When you are reading book chapters or working on a research paper, you are probably better off in a less social environment.

Improve Your Study Habits
Here are simple steps you can take to help get a handle on studying:
·         Have a routine for where and when you study.
·         Choose reasonable and specific goals that you can accomplish for each study session.
·         Do things that are harder or require more intense thought at your most productive time of the day.
·         Take breaks if you need them so you don’t waste time looking at material but not absorbing it.
·         Get to know students that you respect and can study with or contact to ask questions.
·         Keep up with the workload and seek help when you need it.College help

The following subjects and classes are standard fare for success in high school and beyond, whether you plan to attend a four-year or two-year College.

Most colleges look for students who have taken three years of math in high school. The more competitive one requires or recommend four year. Each school has its own program, but some of courses typically offer are:
·         Algebra I
·         Algebra II

Part 1

Develop Good Study Habits
In college, you’ll need to build on the study skills that you learned in high school. The demand of a college classes are probably more rigorous than those you are used to.
You can succeed by knowing what to expect and how to handle it.
Think of college as a full-time job, in which you spend 40 hours a week on class, labs, study groups and doing homework.
Being organized and using your time well are essential. Learn more about time management, and use the guidelines below to develop your study skills.
Decide When to Study
Work out about how many hours you need to study every day. Then make a schedule.
·         Figure out what block of time you have available throughout the day, in the evening and on weekends.
·         Consider what time of day you are most alert-there are morning people and night owls-and try to schedule your studying  accordingly
·         Think about whether you do better studying for a few hours at a time or sitting down for marathon session

“Choosing the Right is always the right thing to do.”
--Alex Linares

The stament is correct because doing homework is better than watching a TV program, or you can evolution and do both at the same time even if it sounds wrong. The point is that doing good in school can help you a good job with enough money and time in the world to watch as many TV programs or football game as you want.

10 Time Management Tip for Student Tips 5-10

10 Time Management Tip for Student
Tips 5-10

Tip 5. Review Your Notes Every Day.
Reviewing helps you reinforce what you’ve learned, so you need less time to study before a test. You’ll also be ready if you get called on class or have a take a pop quiz

Tip 6. Get a Good Night’s Sleep.
Your brain needs rest to perform at its peak. Lack of sleep makes the day seem longer and your tasks seem more difficult.

Tip 7. Communicate Your Schedule to Others.
If phone calls or texts are proving to be a distraction, tell your friend that you are only available certain times of day and not to expect response at other times.

Tip 8. Become a Taskmaster
Give yourself a time budget and plan your plan your activities accordingly. Figure out how much free time you have each week before you add any commitments.

Tip 9. Don’t Waste Time Agonizing
Instead of agonizing and procrastinating, just do it. Wasting an entire evening worrying about something that you’re supposed to be doing is not productive, and can increase your stress.

Tip 10. Determine Your Priorities
You can’t do everything at once. Establish the importance of each item. Then set realistic goals that are attainable.

The post is correct because no will prefer to be in a car with a drunk driver than a conscious driver. Maby it would be more fun to be with the bad company but it's safer to be with the good company.
For example, would it be better to wake up in an unknown place than to wake up safely at home with everyone that loves you and would never try anything bad that would hurt you.

So it's easier to do it in a team like Alcoholic Anonymous. They sit and talk it out. Most part has to be don by you but a little help can be handy in not giving up and being cheered at.

When you do what you honestly feel, you won’t have any regrets. Your heart is your internal compass –it gives you direction and directions, even true north, your personal compass, your heart, will point you in the true north, the exact directions and paths you need to trod.
4) SOUL: Study scriptures and others sacred literature daily. In other words, feed your spirit because your spirit needs spiritual food just like your physical body needs temporal food to survive. 1) Body. Eat wholesome foods, fruits, and vegetables, legumes. Avoid illegal drugs, smoking, alcohol, tobacco products, tattooing. Exercise regularly and effectively. Get plenty of rest at night. Get to bed early each morning. “Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

"Alone we can do so little: together we can do so much."

The stament is correct because for example if the U.S Army was only one guy, then we would all be dead, but together we are the strongest army in the world. Another example is the movie "The Rise of The Planet of The Appes", why, because the smart appe gather all the other appes to go to the jungle but if he had gone away by himself, eventhough he is smart, he sould have gotten slaghuter sooner or later.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens Habits 6

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens
 Habits 6
Habit 6: Synergize
Synergy is achieved when two or more people work together to create something better than either could alone. Through this habit, teens learn it doesn’t have to be “your way” or “my way” but rather a better way, a higher way. Synergy allows teens to value differences and better appreciate others. Synergy is the reward, the delicious fruit you’ll taste as you get better at living the other habits, especially at thinking Win-Win and seeking first to understand. Learning to synergize is like learning to form V formations with others instead of trying to fly through life solo. You’ll be amazed at how much faster and farther you’ll go. Synergy doesn’t just happen. It’s a process. You have to get there. And the foundation of getting there is this: Learn to celebrate differences.

A good band is a great example of synergy. It’s not just the drums, or the guitar, or the sax, or the vocalist, it’s all of them together that make up the “sound”. Each band member brings his or her strength to the table to create something better than each could alone. No instrument is more important than another, just different.

Student Success Stament

"So often, in our quest to be more popular and to be part of the "in-group," we lose sight of things that are far more important."
-Sean Covey

The stament eas clearly quoted by a wise man because popular kids have to make a sacrafice to become popular. Many are draged down to drugs just to be popular. But they dont think because if some is your friend just because you do drugs than why have enemies if you have friends that will drag you into drugs. For example many in jail are there because they tought they were hot stuff but now they are worser than dogs in a cage

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens Habit 5

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens
Habit 5

5. Seek First to Understand, and then to be Understood
Because most people don’t listen very well, one of the great frustrations in life that many don’t feel understood. This habit will ensure your teen learns the most important communication skill there is: active listening.
Why is this habit the key to communication? It’s because the deepest need of the human heart is to be understood. Everyone wants to be respected and valued for who they are-a unique, one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-cloned individual. People won’t expose their soft middles unless they feel genuine love and understanding. Once they feel it, however, they will tell you more than you may want to hear. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Listen with your eyes, heart, and ears. 7percent of communication is contained in the words we use. The rest come from body language (53 percent) and how we say words, or the tone and feeling reflected in our voice (40 percent).
Most people are eager to talk and rather talk than listen. We have one mouth and two ears. This means we should listen twist as much as we talk. We should actually learn more while listening rather than when we talk. Learn to listen and listen to learn. Listen, really listen, for understanding. Seek first to understand then to be understood-LISTEN

Valentines

Valentines

Today is Valentine’s Day, many may not have a date for today but it is just another day of the week. Many may be depressed for not having someone but the question is why?
..
Why does everybody get depressed for not having a date? I am in the 9th grade and don’t have a girl but I am not depressed for that. Well Valentine’s Day is mostly a day for commercial (big business) because they sell: expensive candy, jewelry and more items to supposedly show there love. But that’s just crap because if they don’t show care, love or any other sign of love, it’s just maybe they really just don’t care about you, yea it may be hard to admit but why stick around just like a fly around something that’s never was or is going to be yours. I know I am just in High school and am not a professional like Dr.Phil but my point is to all those who are alone in valentine’s day is to not be depressed because of another day, and if you like to get with someone, just straight tell him/her on any day of the week but not just because it’s valentines expect to make him/her say yes.

And know to does who have a partner, then enjoy.  Gifts are not important if you love him/her. The important is that you two spend the most time together as possible because time and distance are just numbers when it comes to love. And me well I am just going to wait for the person who accepts me by whom and what I am because I don’t want to be played around with. So remember that if your alone, don’t worry, or if you’re planning to ask someone, then go for it but make it special, but if you have a partner then enjoiy.

7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens Habit 4

7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
Habit 4

4. Think Win-Win
Teens can learn to foster the belief that it is possible to create an atmosphere of Win-Win in every relationship. This habit encourages the idea that in any given discussion or situation both parties can arrive at a mutually beneficial solution. Your teen ill learn to celebrate the accomplishments of others instead of being threatened by them. Win-Win is a belief that everyone can win. It’s both nice and tough all at once. I won’t step on you, but I won’t be your doormat either. You care about other people and you want them to succeed. But you also care about yourself, and you want to succeed as well. Win-Win is abundant. It’s not either you or me. It’s both of us. It’s not a matter of who gets the biggest piece of the pie. There’s more then enough food for everyone. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Win-Win always creates more. Perhaps the most surprising benefit of thinking Win-Win is the good feelings it brings on. The true test of whether or not you are thinking Win-Win or one of the alternatives is how you feel. Win-Lose and Lose –Win thinking will cloud your judgment  and fill you with negative feelings.
Win-Win will fill your heart with happy and serene thoughts. It will give you confidence. Even fill you with light. Think Win-Win or no deal

Habit 3: Put First Things First
Habit 3 is about Will and Will Not Power. This habit helps teens prioritize and manage their rime o that they focus on and complete the most important things in their time so they focus on and complete the most important things in their lives. Putting first thing first also means learning to overcome fears and being strong during difficult time. It’s living life according to what matters most. Putting first thing first deals with things that are:
Important or not, urgent or not.  Let’s look at the four quadrants of time management.
Quadrant 1: Things those are important and urgent
Quadrant 2: Things that is important but not urgent
Quadrant 3: Things that are not important but are urgent
Quadrant 4: Things that is neither important nor urgent
1.       Important and urgent
2.       Important but not urgent
3.       Not important but are urgent
4.       Not important nor urgent
Quadrant 2 is the ideal place to spend our time, doing things that are important but not urgent. Here’s were priories come into play. The result for living Quadrant 2 is:
1. Control of your life
2. Balance
3. High Performance

So, in what quadrant are you spending most of your time? The key is to shift as much as possible into Quadrant 2 and this is accomplished by planning. Spend more time planning and incorporating the most important things first, things that matter most. Keep your eyes on the prize and reach for it.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens
By Sean Convey
For teens, life is not a playground, it’s a jungle. And, being the parent of a teen isn’t any walk in the park, either. In this book, The Habits of Highly Effective Teen, author Sean Convey attempts to provide “a compass to help teens and their parents navigate the problem they encounter daily.”
How will they deal with peer pressure? Motivations? Success or lack thereof? The life of a teen is full of tough issues and life-changing decisions. As a parent, you are responsible to help them learn the principals and ethic that will help them reach their goals and live a successful life.
While its all well and good to tell kids how to live their lives,” teens watch what you say, “covey says. So practice what you preach. Your example can be very influential.

Covey himself has done well by following a parent’s example. His dad, Stephen covey, wrote the book The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People, which sold over 15 million copies. Sean’s a chip off the block, and no slacker. His own book has rung in a more than respectable 2 million copies sold. Here are his seven habits, and some ideas for helping your teen understand and apply them:

Online learning can be powerful, stimulating, engaging experience for the student who can work and think independently. However, since most-if not all- of the learning takes place on your own time, you will not have the kind of direct supervision you would in a classroom. Online learning therefore, requires a significant commitment from you. All education comes down to what you’re willing to invest in the experience- this is particularly true in the online environment. Commitment, self-discipline and self-motivation are all key qualities to ensuring success in an online course!

Reading and writing are the basis of most online courses, so it’s critical that you feel comfortable with this form of communication. While some courses contain modules that include videos or other activities, all of them require significant amounts of reading. And nearly all of your communication with your classmates and your instructor will be in writing. If these are weak areas for you, you will want to address those issues prior to enrolling or while enrolled in an online course. The PSU Writing Center is available to assist you.

"Goodness is the only investment that never fails"
-Henry David Thoreau

The stement is completely wrong, sorry but I have been part of this investment. An example is my grandfather, he was a good, respected man in Mexico but was poor. Everyone admire him but when he died, my grandmother had to pay all the bills of the funeral and around the house. When my grandmother asked all the poeple for a coperation for my grandad's funeral, she didnt recive anything not even a little help. So my mother had to leave school and help around the house. So this is my reason this statement is not true because if my grandparents had invested more money or atleast time into studies insted of goodness and respect this would had never happen to my mother having to leave school to help around the house.

Successful Students 10

Successful Students

10. Successful students are good time managers. Successful students do not procrastinate. They have learned that time control is life control and have consciously chosen to be in control of their life.
An element truth: you will either control time or be controlled by it! Its your choice: you can lead or be led, establish control or relinquish control, steer your own course or follow others. Failure to take control of their own time is probably the no. 1 study skill problem for college students. It ultimately causes many students to become non-students! Procrastination are good excuse-makers. Don’t make academics harder on yourself than it has to be. Stop procrastinating. And don’t wait until tomorrow to do it!
